KX - RECORDING & MIXING ENGINEER

ABOUT

ABOUT

I grew up surrounded by flamenco, French chanson and hip-hop. Three very different worlds that shaped the way I listened to music long before I made my first mix.

Over time, simply listening wasn't enough anymore. I wanted to understand what gave the songs I loved their impact.

That curiosity naturally led me to pursue a career in sound engineering.

While studying at ESIS (École Supérieure de l'Image et du Son), my days were split between classes and late-night studio sessions, often lasting until sunrise. It was there that I learned to listen, adapt, and understand that every project requires its own approach.

During my second year, I met French rapper BB Jacques. Recording and mixing several of his projects taught me that the role of a recording and mixing engineer goes far beyond the technical side. It's about understanding an artist's vision and giving each song the form it deserves.

In 2023, I founded Bonne Nouvelle Studio with a simple goal: to create a space where artists could express themselves freely and develop their music on their own terms.

Since then, I've approached every project with the same philosophy. Every decision—whether it's the placement of a vocal, the impact of the drums, or the balance of a mix—should always serve the song.

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work with artists such as BB Jacques, Surprise and Juliette Armanet, while also collaborating closely with emerging artists including Ooralise and Jeanne Bringtown. Every collaboration has refined the way I listen, create and work.

Today, I give every project the same level of care, with one priority above all : helping artists create music that truly reflects who they are.
